DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Volleyball team fell in their home opener to the University of Jamestown in a NSAA match on Tuesday night in Scott Gymnasium.
The Blue Hawks lost the first set 13-25 but played the Jimmies pretty tough in the second and third sets, falling 18-25 and 16-25. The Blue Hawks are now 1-13 overall and 0-2 in NSAA match ups.
Dickinson State was led by Brenna Hansen with nine kills on 14 attempts with six digs and one block while Shelby Gustafson added six kills and one block. Shelby Singleton recorded six kills with eight digs and Danielle Boyette had 26 assists in the loss.
The Blue Hawks finished the match with 29 kills, 28 assists, 29 digs and 3 blocks.
The Jimmies were led by Madison Wendel with 13 kills while Kaitlin Anderson added seven kills and Heather Bachman also recorded six kills. Kaia Buck finished the match with 22 assists and Aubrey Beaumont recorded 14 assists.
The University of Jamestown finished the match with 41 kills, 38 assists, 49 digs and 12 blocks.
The Blue Hawks have a few days off until they host Valley City State on September 25th and Mayville State on September 26th. Both matches will begin at 7:00 PM (MDT) in Scott Gymnasium.
