Blue Hawk Volleyball Takes Down the Comets in Three Sets

DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Volleyball team won back to back matches in Scott Gymnasium on Friday and Saturday night after they defeated the Mayville State University Comets in three sets on Saturday night.

Coming off a huge NSAA victory Friday night against the Valley City State University Vikings, the Blue Hawks picked up where they left off when the faced off with Mayville State University in another NSAA match up Saturday night.

The Blue Hawks won the first set 29-27, the second set 25-20 and the third and final set 25-20.

Leading the way for the Blue Hawks was Brenna Hansen with 16 kills on 31 attempts with three digs and two blocks. Shaylee Singleton added 11 kills on 27 attempts with five digs and three blocks. 

Tessa Sian recorded nine kills and four blocks while Maggie Green finished with 17 digs. Danielle Boyette had another great game as she totalled 44 assists in the match.

Stephany Woldled the way for the Comets with nine kills while Jen Puncochar added seven kills. Paige O'Connor recorded 13 digs and Megan Kolness finished with 23 assists.

The Blue Hawks are now 3-13 overall and 2-2 NSAA. Dickinson State will travel to Rapid City, SD to take on South Dakota School of Mines on Tuesday, September 29th at 7:00 PM (MDT).

The Blue Hawks return home on Tuesday, October 13th when they host South Dakota School of Mines in Scott Gym at 7:00 PM (MDT).
