Dickinson State Volleyball Defeats Johnson & Wales in Five Sets

DENVER, CO- The Dickinson State University Volleyball team came back after a five set loss to UM-W on Friday night to beat Johnson and Wales in five sets in their second match of the Johnson & Wales tournament on Saturday.

Johnson & Wales won the first set 25-14 while the Blue Hawks came back to win the second set 25-15. Johnson & Wales won the third set 25-17 but the Blue Hawks won the fourth set 25-22 to push a fifth set which they won 16-14.

Brenna Hansen led the Blue Hawks with 14 kills while she also recorded 14 digs. Shelby Gustafson finished with nine kills while Shaylee Singleton also recorded nine kills with seven digs.

Danielle Boyette recorded a match high 41 assists while Maggie Green also recorded a match high 30 digs for the Blue Hawks.

Dickinson State finished the match with 54 kills on 179 attempts, 51 assists, 81 digs and nine total team blocks.

The Blue Hawks now face St. Louis School of Pharmacy in their final match of the Johnson & Wales tournament.
