Boyette Named 1st Team All-NSAA Volleyball

MADISON, S.D. – The 2016 North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) announced its All-Conference Volleyball Teams and postseason awards Monday.

Senior Danielle Boyette for the Dickinson State University Blue Hawks has earned 1st team All-NSAA Honors after receiving 2nd team All-NSAA in 2015. Boyette finished the 2016 season with 203 kills, 538 assists, 232 digs, 49 blocks and 247.5 total points this season.

Viterbo (Wis.) won its second straight NSAA Volleyball regular-season conference outright and postseason tournament for the second straight year.  The V-Hawks defeated Jamestown (N.D.) in the NSAA Volleyball Postseason Tournament Championship match in four sets on Nov. 12 in La Crosse, Wis.

Natalie Geidel of Viterbo was selected as the NSAA Volleyball Most Valuable Offensive Player-of-the-Year, while her teammate Amelia Grahn was chosen as the conference's Setter-of-the-Year.  Nicole Warren of Jamestown was picked as the NSAA Volleyball Most Valuable Defensive Player-of-the-Year.

Madison Squiers of Bellevue (Neb.) was named as NSAA Volleyball Freshman-of-the-Year.

Ryan DeLong was honored as NSAA Volleyball Coach-of-the-Year after guiding the V-Hawks to their second consecutive NSAA conference title.  Steve Field of Bellevue was chosen as NSAA Volleyball Assistant Coach of the Year award. 

A total of 14 players are listed on the 2016 NSAA Volleyball All-Conference First-Team.  Eight players are named on the Second-Team All-Conference. 

Viterbo led with seven selections on the NSAA Volleyball All-Conference Teams.  Jamestown and Bellevue each recorded five selections on the All-Conference Teams.  Valley City State (N.D.), Dickinson State (N.D.), Dakota State (S.D.) and Waldorf (Iowa) each had one recipient on the All-Conference list. 

The NSAA All-Conference teams and postseason awards were selected by the league coaches.
