Theard, Copp Lead Blue Hawks at Conference

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Blue Hawks competed in the Frontier/North Star Conference Meet on Friday (Nov. 7).  Aidan Theard was the men's best finisher, while the men finished eighth overall.  Austyn Copp led the women to a fifth place finish.

Theard finished 17th overall with a time of 27:19.12.  Among North Star runners, he finished second to Richard Langdeaux of Valley City.  Jonathan Aman and Travis Koenig finished 12th and 13th respectively with times of 29:00.52 and 29:00.96.  The Blue Hawks finished fourth among NSAA schools.

Copp was the top NSAA runner for the women.  She ran a time of 19:22.74, which gave her a pace of 6:15 per mile.  Ashly George finished third among NSAA runners with a time of 19:39.62.  Paitton Herbst finished seventh in the North Star with a time of 21:00.27.  Shayna Tonderum finished 12th, while Maraget Martinez finished 16th for NSAA competitors.  The Blue Hawks finished second among NSAA schools.

George not only finished in the top five in NSAA competitors, but she and Aman also received Champions of Character awards for their commitment to integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

The Blue Hawks will now await the selections for the 56th Annual NAIA Cross Country National Meet in Lawrence, Kansas at Rim Rock Farm.
