Jade Sheffield Signs with Blue Hawk Cross Country Team

DICKINSON, ND- DSU Head Cross Country Coach Ben Shroyer is pleased to announce the signing of Jade Sheffield from Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, Wyoming.

During her time at Kelly Walsh HS, Jade achieved All-American Honors at the 2014 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in the 2000 meter Steeplechase running 7:56. She also ran a MileSplit US National Silver 5K Cross Country Standard at the 2015 Sturgis Cross Country Invitational in 19:39.

Jade also finished in the top 18 all three years that she participated in the Wyoming 4A State Cross Country Championships and was a member of the 7th place 4x800 relay team at the 2015 Wyoming 4A State Track & Field Championships.

Sheffield placed 12th in the 3200 at the 2014 Wyoming 4A State Track & Field Championships. 

Jade has a personal record of 5:36 in the 1600 and 12:31 in the 3200.

“I am very excited about what Jade will bring to our program next fall. She is strong, has a lot of range, and is very competitive," said Shroyer.  "She is a hard worker and comes from a great program in Kelly Walsh High School. Jade is going to come in right away and be a difference maker for our team. She is also an exceptional student with high academic ambitions and that has impressed me as well."
