DICKINSON, ND- Dickinson State University Head Cross Country Coach, Ben Shroyer, is pleased to announce the signing of Cassidy Huesers to join the Blue Hawk Women's Cross Country team in 2017.
"I love the location and DSU offers everything that I am interested in," stated Huesers.
Cassidy is a 4x NDHSAA Class B State Cross Country Championships Qualifier, 2x NDHSAA Class B All-Region Cross Country Team Selection, qualified as a junior for the 2016 NDHSAA Class B State Track Meet in the 1600 and 3200 run and her Highest finish of 22nd place at the 2016 NDHSAA Class B State Cross Country Championships in 20:37.
She is a member of the National Honor Society and Honor Roll Student with 3.5 GPA and a member of Varsity Basketball Team at Max High School.
Cassidy plans to major in Biology at Dickinson State University and she is the daughter of Marlo and Paula Huesers.
Her personal records are 5k (XC)- 20:16, 4k (XC)- 15:52, 800- 2:26, 1600- 5:25 and 3200- 12:07.
"I am very excited to announce our third female distance recruit for 2017 and especially one from North Dakota," said Shroyer. "Cassidy will do some great things for our growing program and should make an immediate impact for us next fall. She is a very versatile runner and has a lot of strength. She is a well-rounded student-athlete that is involved in many extracurricular activities at Max High School. I am looking forward to seeing what she can accomplish in her final track season this spring. We are excited to have Cassidy join our cross country and track program this fall!"
